The Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon is committed to upliftment and being a force for positive change through its philanthropic arm, the Two Oceans Marathon Initiative (TOMI), which sits at the heart of the organisation. TOMI promotes positive outcomes across its four pillars: Education, Environment, Health and Wellness and Athletics Development.

The Two Oceans Marathon Initiative (TOMI) has a proud legacy of partnering with charities and community-based organisations, and partners with an average of 50 official charities announced annually.

The charities chosen to partner with us for 2022 will be able to purchase Two Oceans Marathon entries for the Half or Ultra Marathon, which they can then sell to runners. The income generated from entries can then be used to top-up fundraising and drive further marketing, providing charities with a platform to broaden their resource offerings.

TOMI invites charities and community-based organisations who wish to apply for TTOM2022 entries to do so now, should you not have done so yet. Once applications are received from charities, they are reviewed against strict set TOMI criteria.

Runners may raise the funds needed to purchase their entries via GivenGain. Both runners and supporters may also fundraise additional amounts for the charities they are supporting on this platform. Donations received via GivenGain are paid over directly to the charities every week. Additionally, runners may make direct donations to TOMI to the pillar of their choice when entering the event.

In 2019, Two Oceans Marathon became the first running event to raise more than R1 million on the GivenGain platform, with R1 035 302,00 having been raised for charities nationally in the 50th edition of the race.
