(Cape Town, 8 August 2016) Charitable
organisations wishing to apply to become official beneficiaries of the 2017 Old
Mutual Two Oceans Marathon, through the Two Oceans Marathon Initiative (TOMI),
must submit their applications by 25 August 2016.
In the absence of Stephen Mokoka, Gladwin Mzazi and Precious Mashele who are on National Duty at the World Half Marathon Championships, and Lusapho April who has just returned from the the New York Half Marathon, Boxers Elroy Gelant is the odds on favourite to win the 2016 Old Mutual Two Oceans Half Marathon on Saturday 26 March.
Nedbank’ Collen Makaza has all the right ingredients to win the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon, come 26 March. A two-time World 50km Champion, Makaza has run in the Mother City seven times and has had mixed fortunes. His debut was certainly nothing to write home about, the Zimbabwean finishing in 1154th, running over 5 hours.
