The Two Oceans Marathon NPC is pleased to confirm that the 53rd edition of the globally iconic Two Oceans Marathon will take place on 13 and 14 April 2024.

The Ultra Marathon is scheduled for Saturday, 13 April 2024, with the Half Marathon set for Sunday, 14 April 2024. The Trail Run, Fun Runs and Cape Town International Friendship Run are back, and will take place on Friday, 12 April.

This next instalment of the most eagerly anticipated running event in the Western Cape, the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon 2024, will also mark the 25th running of South Africa’s biggest Half Marathon.

Together with the event’s official Host City, the City of Cape Town – often internationally acclaimed as the most beautiful city in the world – and Title Sponsor, Totalsports, the TOM NPC is gearing up to welcome 14 000 Ultra Marathon and 18 000 Half Marathon runners to the start line in 2024.

“The early announcement of our #TTOM2024 date is exciting and we are especially pleased that our many international runners who have been asking for timeline confirmation, can now plan for #TTOM2024 with certainty. To all our incredible runners, we are ready to roll out the glitter and shimmer as a Cape Town Jewel Event, by bringing back the full bouquet of races over Race Weekend in celebration of our 25th milestone Half Marathon,” says TOM NPC chairperson William Swartbooi.

He continues, “The return of the Trail Run, Fun Runs and Cape Town International Friendship Run speaks to our commitment to ‘Conquer the Current’ and will further elevate the ‘gees’ of our celebration”.

The Two Oceans Marathon contributes up to R672 million to the local economy annually, and is backed by South Africa’s leading sports apparel brand, title sponsor Totalsports.

Executive Mayor of the City of Cape Town, Geordin Hill-Lewis, says: “The early announcement of confirmed dates for the 2024 Totalsports Two Oceans Ultra Marathon and Half Marathon is excellent news for everyone with an interest in these two iconic races.

“This means that entrants, and particularly those planning a trip to Cape Town from abroad, can make their arrangements with certainty and well in advance. So book the 13th and 14th April in your calendar, go and hit the road, and start your training. We cannot wait to welcome runners from around the world to the Mother City for what has become a bucket list race on the global running calendar.

“This one will be even more special, because we are celebrating the 25th running of the Two Oceans Half Marathon. It’s also wonderful to have the Trail Run, the Fun Runs and the Cape Town International Friendship Run back on Friday, 12 April 2024. These events truly make the Two Oceans race a race for everyone, and will no doubt help build an incredible atmosphere here in Cape Town, come Race Weekend.”
