Christel House South Africa is a trailblazer in developing an integrated community-based education-enabling model that delivers holistic, inclusive education and social impact in its communities. Christel House South Africa has over 20 years of experience, delivering on
its mission of preparing graduates and communities for upward economic mobility.

Christel House South Africa provides no-fee quality, CAPS-aligned education to students from Cape Town’s poorest neighbourhoods. Through character-based and career-focused education, Christel House South Africa supports learners for 19 years (Grade RR to
Grade 12 and five years post-matric). Our children come from Cape Town’s poorest communities, including Langa, Phumlani, Manenberg and Strandfontein, each living on less than R1,500 monthly.

Christel House South Africa enables learning by including poverty mitigation support through free daily transport to school and back, professional healthcare, nutritious meals (including breakfast, lunch, and snacks), psychosocial support, counselling, family assistance, and college and career support.

Based on the learnings and through implementing our College and Careers programme, Christel House South Africa developed Youth Bridge. Youth unemployment is a serious challenge in South Africa and solving youth unemployment is vital on the national agenda. Christel House South Africa piloted Youth Bridge in 2022, to help unemployed youth find gainful employment. Our programme assists youth committed to entering
permanent employment by providing in-depth character and career support and placement through an intensive six-month programme. Youth Bridge extends our model further into communities, with positive results in creating vital employment, self-worth and
opportunity for South Africa’s youth. Christel House South Africa is more than a school; our learners, families, community
stakeholders and Youth Bridge participants are a testament to our ability to create upward economic mobility.
