Malachi Place of Safety

Malachi Place of Safety is a haven for vulnerable children who have faced trauma, abandonment, and abuse, providing them with a nurturing, family-like environment. Founded by Ruan and Audrey Brummer, Malachi is more than just a shelter – it’s a compassionate home that strives to bring hope, healing, and stability to children during their most difficult times. We currently care for nine children, offering not only basic necessities but also emotional and psychological support, aiming to restore their sense of security and dignity.
At Malachi, we believe every child deserves a chance at a better future. Our mission is driven by the urgency to provide these children with the stability, care, and love they may have never known. With only minimal government support, our running costs often exceed what is covered, and we rely on generous donations to sustain our vital work.
The funds raised through the Two Oceans Half Marathon will directly support essentials like food, clothing, medical care, and educational resources. More importantly, these funds will enable us to provide specialised support, essential for children who have endured trauma. Every contribution will help us cover the high monthly costs of maintaining a safe, secure, and caring environment – ensuring that each child at Malachi feels valued and empowered to rebuild their lives.
Join us in making a lasting difference in the lives of these children. By supporting Malachi Place of Safety, you’re not only helping to meet their immediate needs but also giving them hope for a brighter, more stable future.
