TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please read the following important rules which are set in place for your own safety:

1. You can erect your club tents on the C field (south side) from Thursday 20th March 09h00 to Friday 21st March 19h00.
2. Vehicles will be given access onto the fields to drop off the club tents between 09h00 and 16h00 on the 20th and 21st March ONLY - this rule will be strictly applied ACCREDITATION FOR THIS “DROP & GO” ACCESS MUST BE APPLIED FOR). At all other times Runners must park off the fields and club tents must be carried to your site (enter from the south entrance - the left hand lane from Union Avenue will take you directly into the UCT Campus). Please note that the fun runs take place on the 21st between 13h00 and 15h00 and as they start right next to the club tent site area access to the field may be limited during this time.
3. Limited parking for trailers (of regular size) will be provided for on the field, one per club, in a demarcated area next to the hedge - ACCREDITATION FOR THIS PARKING MUST BE APPLIED FOR. Although there is security at the field we advise you to bring your own chain and lock to secure your trailer.
4. All tents must be at least 1 metre from the fencing. Tents must be open sided and each club may only have one tent next to the fence. Any additional tents must be placed one behind the other.
5. We cannot be held responsible for the safety of club tents. Clubs are not permitted to dismantle tents of other clubs to get a better position.
6. There must be no damage of any description on the UCT fields. Open fires are not allowed but skottels are permitted (Fire and Safety reserve the right to request that any cooker they feel poses a threat be extinguished). Camping may not take place on the UCT fields.
7. You will not be permitted to bring alcohol onto the field as all the fields are licenced areas - alcohol may be purchased at the beer garden on the C field next to the Club Tent sites. This rule will be strictly applied by the Police Services.
8. Tent sites measure approximately 5m x 5m. Club tents must not exceed this size and must be free standing.
9. No platforms, scaffolding or sponsors signage may be used at the club tent sites.
10. Although security is provided at the finish, neither the Two Oceans Marathon, its sponsors, nor UCT will take responsibility for any loss or damage to club property.
11. All club tents must be removed by 16h00 on race day.

Any club tents erected in contravention of the above will be dismantled and removed.

We welcome club tents and sincerely hope that we can rely on your co-operation to adhere to the afore-mentioned rules to ensure tents will always have their place at the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon.
