Race day is almost here and we hope you are ready for it. For those of you coming to Cape Town, please travel safely. There’s loads on during this week and we’ve picked out some of the key things we think might appeal to you and included them in our final newsletter.
All that remains is for us to wish you all the best for race day. Rest up this week, keep your feet up, get lots of sleep, eat plenty of pasta and look after yourself.
Once again, we are appealing to everyone to get to the start early. With close to 21 000 runners all trying to get to UCT on race day, it’s a recipe for traffic jams. Please get up half an hour earlier and leave home earlier than you have done in the past. Give your running mates lifts to try to alleviate some of the traffic problems. Your race brochure contains a host of relevant race information that includes parking, traffic issues, route maps etc. so be sure to read it from cover to cover!.
Old Mutual’s website offers an innovative race calculator and interactive route map that will give you an idea of what time you will finish the ultra or half marathon in, based on other distances and times you have run.
