| Well known journalist and professional coach, Norrie Williamson, will take over the reigns as Old Mutual Virtual Coach. While Norrie has some extremely big shoes to fill, he brings to the table a wealth of knowledge and experience in the road running arena and is an accomplished athlete in his own right.
This year Norrie will run his tenth Two Oceans half marathon and is dedicating his run to Dave Spence and will head up the 2-hour pace bus. He has his blue number for the Two Oceans ultra event with all ten of his runs producing silver medals – an awesome achievement! He ran his first Two Oceans ultra in 1982 and received his blue number in 1996.
Over the years Norrie has represented South Africa, Scotland and Great Britain in athletics and triathlon as competitor, administrator, official and coach. Norrie is also a motivational public speaker and his coaching CV speaks volumes about his experience as a coach.
You are definitely in good hands and will continue to receive expert advice and assistance as you prepare for race day. We wish him all the best in his new role and please feel free to contact him if you have any running queries – www.oldmutual.co.za/twooceansmarathon.

| The Two Oceans Marathon office makes provision for participants who don’t have the financial means to make it down to Cape Town to experience the event through the Runners’ Village. These runners must have entered the race, qualified and preferably running Two Oceans for the first time.
The successful candidates receive an all expenses paid trip to Cape Town, which includes transport, accommodation, meals and PUMA clothing, all courtesy of the race office, Old Mutual and PUMA.
We would like the running clubs to nominate members who they feel could benefit from this initiative. Please contact Fatima Allie at Itheko Events Management on (021) 637 5501 or runnersvillage@itheko.com to nominate participants.
