| International participants are invited to be a part of this year’s International Friendship Run on Friday 2 April. Family and friends as well as all African entrants are also welcome and can purchase an entry for R50 at the Good Hope Centre during Wednesday and Thursday’s Expo times.
The event takes you on a scenic 5km route through the city centre past historical landmarks and key points of interest, starting from the Good Hope Centre and finishing at the Waterfront. Participants are encouraged to run with their country’s flag or to wear their national colours. After the run, you will be treated to a breakfast bag. If you need water on the run, please bring your own, as there will be no water on route, only at the finish, sponsored by Coke.
We invite you to spend some time at the Waterfront after your run socialising, exchanging race T‑shirts and past marathon experiences with other international runners. Transport will be supplied from the finish (V&A Waterfront) back to the Good Hope Centre from 10H15 onwards.
Entry process: All international runners who are participating in either of the main races automatically qualify for a free entry into the International Friendship Run. All runners from Africa (outside South Africa) can enter the Friendship Run for R50. The runners are also welcome to enter their family and friends, local or international, for a fee of R50 per person. All participants, whether free or paying, must register at the Expo at the Good Hope Centre to get their race number. Entries are limited to 800 participants and all entrants will receive a unique commemorative PUMA T‑shirt.
Registration for the International Friendship Run takes place at the International Registration Area at the Good Hope Centre on Wednesday 31 March and Thursday 1 April. Late entries will NOT be taken outside the Good Hope Centre on Friday morning.
