There's no sweeter moment for a runner than to find a loved one somewhere along the course - or even a stranger shouting your name.
The great news is that the world's most beautiful marathon has some of the world's most beautiful spectator spots, and you can pack a picnic and make a morning of cheering on friends and strangers alike.
Have a look at our handy Spectators' Guide and decide where you want to lend your support.
(Top Tip: have a look at the event road closures and plan how you will get to your chosen spot and where to park.)

The medals handed out to the OMTOM winners and finishers have become a coveted collectors’ item, with athletes curious to see what each year’s race has in store.

We design new medals every year. Africa is often a focal point, as we are proudly African, South African and Capetonian, but we also incorporate our marketing campaign or iconic elements like Table Mountain into the design.
