18 & 19 April 2014
You and a field of over 25 000 runners that includes a top class selection of local and international athletes will be lining up at the start line on Saturday 7 April. All of last year’s top ten men in the ultra event have entered this year, together with five of the top ten women.
Only one of the Nurgalieva twins will be taking part this year as defending champion Olesya has had to pull out due to injury. Elena has confirmed that she will definitely be taking part and the men’s defending champion George Ntshiliza will be lining up on race day in an attempt to make it two in a row. In the half marathon, six of last year’s top ten men have entered and Lusapho April will be back to defend his title. In the women’s race, six of last year’s top ten have also entered, excluding last year’s winner and course record holder Helalia Johannes.
