Volvo Ocean Race with PUMA at the V&A Waterfront

Catch all the action of the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12 stopover with PUMA at the V&A Waterfront from 1 to 11 December. A pop-up store and entertainment zone called the PUMA Quad is located opposite the V&A Amphitheatre for the two week stopover, where PUMA will host daily activities. The PUMA Quad is open to the public and all activities are FREE!

Sailing prowess will be tested with grinding competitions taking place between 3 and 6pm on 1, 3 and 8 December as well as between 2 and 4pm on 10 and 11 December. The contestant with the best grinding results on competition days will win a R1 000 PUMA voucher. Two grand prizes of R10 000 in PUMA vouchers will be awarded to the contestants with the top grinding scores on 10 and 11 December.

Daily sundowner Spinnaker Sessions include the likes of local DJs Dino Moran and Craig De Sousa spinning cool tunes at the PUMA Quad every Thursday to Saturday from 6.15 to 9pm and between 7.15 to 9pm on 10 and 11 December. Sit back, relax and enjoy the sounds of Joaquin Teran and be a part of his musical journey every Monday to Wednesday from 6:15 to 8pm.

Catch Marmo, PUMA Ocean Racing's mascot and 13th crew member, for daily story time readings of his book "Marmo Saves our Seas" at the PUMA Quad between 2 and 11 December at 2:30pm.

On Friday, 9 December PUMA will host the PUMA Social Club presents All Hands on Deck party at Quay Four from 4pm to 1am. This is the official Volvo Ocean Race party with live performances by Jack Parow, Craig de Sousa, Holiday Murray, Anthea Scholtz, Them Tornados and The Wedding DJs. Ping pong, darts and bowling are a few of the games that can be played with a drink in your hand on the night. Tickets are limited and will be sold at the door for R50 per person.

While at the PUMA Quad, don't forget to try out KREECHR, a full-bodied and gorgeously malty, strong lager created in collaboration with CSG to celebrate PUMA's entry into the Volvo Ocean Race. The PUMA Ocean Racing team is led by Skipper Ken Read, who has amassed ten of the most elite off-shore sailors from across the globe, including South African born Jono Swain, to compete in this epic race.
