18 & 19 April 2014
The Parlotones are back at Kirstenbosch for a special concert on Easter Sunday 8 April. This concert will raise funds for the Kirstenbosch Centenary in 2013 and audiences will be treated to an extra half an hour of great music, plus brilliant entertainment on a lazy Easter Sunday afternoon in support of one of Cape Town greatest assets. The support act is The Ice Project, a soft rock/post grunge band that started out in Potchefstroom. Visit http://dogreatthings.co.za/kirstenbosch/ for more details and to book your tickets.
The Parlotones, who performed a sold-out show at the same venue in December, are now the biggest selling rock band in South Africa with more than 300 000 albums sold. They are known for their electric, polished stage performances delivered against the backdrop of their deftly crafted and darkly romantic lyrics. Fronted by lead singer Kahn Morbee, also known for his quirky face painting, the band has opened for various top acts, including Coldplay, and performed with the Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys and Shakira at the 2010 FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Celebration Concert.
