MiX Telematics, a leading provider in vehicle tracking and fleet management solutions, has partnered with the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon this year to help ensure a safe and successful event. The tracking technology will be used to track the top runners and to ensure we are able to track and trace our fleet of vehicles out on the route, including ambulances and emergency response vehicles.
Cyclists who stay close to the leading female and male runners, as well as the leading veteran runner will be equipped with tracking devices. Positions will be submitted via GPRS and displayed on a map in a web application, which allows us to follow the leading runners and constantly be up-to-date on the race progress. MiX Telematics’ solution will ensure that we are able to track and trace all our vehicles out on the route, including ambulances, emergency response vehicles, sweeper vehicles and buses, from their control centre at any time throughout the day. This not only allows us to manage our vehicles more efficiently, but more importantly helps to reduce response times.
In any emergency, we will know exactly which vehicle is the closest to the location where help is needed. MiX Telematics is a global provider of information for people with mobile assets and has built a solid reputation for designing, developing and selling innovative fleet management and telematics solutions, primarily in four specific categories: Fleet Management; Health, Safety and Environment; Vehicle Tracking & Mobile Resource Management and Stolen Vehicle Recovery.
MiX Telematics has offices in Africa, Europe, the United Kingdom, North America, Australia and the Middle East, and works via an extensive global distribution network in 111 countries, on six continents.
