Important info for all international participants
All international participants can pick up their race number and timing chip at a special registration point inside the Good Hope Centre. You are also invited to be a part of the 5th International Friendship Run on Good Friday 22 April, starting at 09h30 at the V&A Waterfront.
Expo & Registration: Please come and join us for a snack and something to drink. You will also receive your official magazine when you register. To ensure you have a trouble-free registration, you must have your race acknowledgement and passport or some form of picture identification with you. Please bring these with you to the Expo:
- Race acknowledgement: If you have not yet received one, please visit www.twooceansmarathon.org.za and click on “CONFIRM 2011 ENTRIES" and enter your name, click on “VIEW ENTRY” and print this out. This can be used as your proof of entry.
- Passport/picture id/drivers licence: This is extremely important! If you do not have some form of identification, then you will not be able to collect your race number and goodie bag for the event.
International Friendship Run: Please join us for the 5th International Friendship Run, which takes place on Good Friday, 22 April at 09h30, starting and finishing at the V&A Waterfront. Please note that it no longer starts outside the Good Hope Centre and has moved to the V&A Waterfront. You can enjoy a leisurely 5km jog or walk from the new start at the Waterfront, along the Atlantic Seaboard, taking in the Cape Town Stadium and Green Point Park, past historical landmarks and key points of interest. Participants will be stopping along the route, just outside the stadium, to hand out school shoes to underprivileged kids as part of the Bobs for Good charity drive.
All international runners who are participating in either the ultra or the half marathon qualify for a free entry into the International Friendship Run. All runners from Africa (outside South Africa) can enter the Friendship Run for R60. The runners are also welcome to enter their family and friends, local or international, for a fee of R60 per person. All runners, whether free or paying, must register at the expo at the Good Hope Centre to get their race number.
Entries are limited to 1 000 participants and all entrants will receive a unique commemorative PUMA T-shirt. Registration for the International Friendship Run takes place at the International Hospitality Area at the Good Hope Centre on Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 April. Please note that late entries will be taken at the V&A Waterfront on Friday morning. Participants come from all over the world, united by their love of running, and are encouraged to run in their national colours or dress up in something relevant to where they come from.
Spectators line the route giving a warm Capetonian welcome to all the runners as they make their way through the streets of Cape Town. After the run, participants can mingle, exchange running T-shirts and training stories while enjoying some truly South African entertainment and a light breakfast at the Waterfront’s Amphitheatre. International Hospitality Tent at the finish: In your goodie bag you will find TWO invites to the International Hospitality tent at the finish at UCT. Please ensure that you bring these with you to the tent on race day, as you will not be allowed entry without an invite.
