18 & 19 April 2014
It is with regret that we announce that the Bobs for Good Foundation will not be our event charity for 2012, as they no longer conform to our charity business model and profile. The Foundation issued a statement on Friday 21 October 2011, that they are undergoing a restructuring process and winding down their current operations which entails them withdrawing from all current funding initiatives as beneficiaries going forward as well as not taking on any new projects. This will result in a rebrand and relaunch with new partners during February 2012. Any funds that have been donated to them via our 2012 entry process will be placed in a holding account until we have appointed a new charity for 2012 and beyond. We will make an announcement in due course regarding the new charity and encourage you to continue donating in the spirit of giving, helping and benefiting those in need of support.
We are sad about this development, as we had formed an amazing partnership with the Bobs for Good team. However, we realise that circumstances change and one has to move on. We have updated our website and online entry system to reflect this new development.
Ron Rutland from the Bobs for Good Foundation said that the charity was appreciative of the incredible generosity and support of all involved with the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon. He said that they were also committed to delivering on the various shoe drops using the funds raised in 2011 by the runners, the golf days, the Expo, and from Old Mutual’s generous contribution.
We will keep you informed via the newsletter and our website as to when these shoe drops will happen to give you a chance to be a part of them. If you have any further questions, please contact the Bobs for Good Foundation directly on 021-701 8080.
