Want to make your race count for more? Join Team SPCA and help us in our fight against animal cruelty
Established in 1872, the Cape of Good Hope SPCA in Cape Town, is the founding society of the SPCA movement in South Africa and is the oldest animal welfare organisation in the country.
Over the past 143 years we have diligently carried out our mission to prevent cruelty to animals, through education, law enforcement, veterinary care services (operating an animal hospital, an inspectorate and four mobile clinics serving impoverished communities), and running a kennel, cattery, horse care unit, wildlife centre, farmyard and adoption centre, which every year places hundreds of animals in loving and caring homes.
Therefore whether you are a race veteran or first timer join us in our fight against animal cruelty by running for TEAM SPCA in the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon on 26 March 2016 and make a difference in the lives of animals.
Each TEAM SPCA runner agrees to raise a minimum of R2 000 in return for the following:
- Guaranteed half marathon entry
- Special ‘thank you’ bag;
- Limited edition TEAM SPCA running shirt
- We’ll offer you lots of fundraising advice, support and tips on how to confidently ask for support and supply you with a standard appeal letter that you can use to encourage your colleagues, friends and family to support you.
- The personal satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of animals!
Whether your contribution pays for a packet of cat food, helps build a kennel or fights animal cruelty, you can be sure that it will help restore a rescued animal’s trust in humans – so thank you! Your donation will not only directly benefit the animals in our area but – through a sharing agreement between all SPCAs nationwide – a portion will be used in other, less fortunate areas to benefit animals over a wider area.
