PinkDrive is a breast cancer Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) powering a mobile mammography and an educational unit through our country with the message that Early Detection Saves Lives.
PinkDrive currently runs three “Pink” mobile breast cancer checks units, as well as three educational cars.
Both units travel to semi-urban and urban areas around South Africa with the aim of enabling various disadvantaged communities access to education, physical examinations and how to do breast self-examinations.
To date we have performed 4,618 mammograms, given 45,912 clinical breast examinations and educated 58,364 patients about breast health.
With the help of sporting initiatives like the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon, PinkDrive have become an established brand that is widely supported, in particular by the sporting fraternity.
Because of initiatives like this, PinkDrive is able to receive more sponsorships, support and awareness which contribute to the longevity of the project and of the cause.
Runners have the opportunity to race for PinkDrive and by doing so assist in raising funds to keep the trucks on the road and to spread the message that Early Detection Saves Lives.
It is heart warming to know that PinkDrive touches the lives of so many through the education and the health services that they provide.
Cost: R1500.00 per entry including goodie bag and Pink Drive Gear
