Khululeka Grief Support
Khululeka Grief Support’s vision is a South Africa where every grieving child and adolescent has access to support, and opportunities for healing. Children and adolescents experience the death of close family members often amidst greater violence and neglect, which has become the hallmark of some poor communities, and usually without access to counselling and therapeutic support. Khululeka facilitates peer grief and loss support groups for bereaved children and adolescents in disadvantaged communities using proven art and play therapy techniques. We also have training programmes for teachers, social workers and other child care workers building better capacity for recognition and support of bereaved children and adolescents. Khululeka is a Non Profit Organisation based in Cape Town and operating in the Western Cape and the Free State.
Check out the following link on what Khululeka Grief Support does:
Cost: R1200.00 The profit made from each entry will go toward a bereaved child in a ten week grief and loss support group; every two tickets cover the cost on one child.
If you buy an entry from Khululeka:
1) you will be invited to join a closed "I love to run for Khululeka" Facebook group where we will be offering weekly inspirational quotes and tips on training and injuries from an experienced runner and physio therapist
2) A team training 12 km run on 19 March 2016, starting at 7am from our Rondebosch office as the final preparation for the race followed by a light breakfast and send off.
3) A set of blank cards with the Khu support group kids’ artwork at the end of the support group around June 2016 – these make fantastic birthday cards.
