Traffic proceeding to the City from the False Bay Areas will be diverted
through Fish Hoek along Main Road to Kalk Bay and then along Boyes Drive to
Lakeside. From there drivers will be directed to the Blue Route (M3).
Residents in the following areas are requested not to park
along the route and to use alternative side streets for the duration of the
Main Road between
Klipper and San Souci Roads
Main Road from
Atlantic Road, Muizenberg through St James and Kalk Bay until the police
station just past Clovelly Road in Fish Hoek.
from 17th Avenue through to the Fish Hoek Circle at Main Road (runners
will be running towards Sun Valley facing the traffic within one lane
which will be coned off).
Hout Bay will be directed in via Pagasvlei Road and Spaanschemat River
Road to the M3 and Constantia Road and then to Claremont and Wynberg via
Alphen hill Road (Victoria Hospital) between 05h30 and 08h00
Traffic to Hout
Bay will be directed from Edison Road and Ladies Mile Roads to
Spaanschemat River Road and Pagasvlei Road to Constantia Road between
05h30 and 08h00.
Please note that the M3 Northbound Carriageway right lane between
Rhodes Drive and UCT will remain open to traffic for the duration of the event.
Delays can be expected for the duration of the Old Mutual
Two Oceans Marathon. We appeal to motorists to avoid using roads leading to the
race route. Please comply with the directions given by traffic officers and
marshals. Road signs will be in place during the week prior to the race,
advising motorists of the road closures.
Parking at UCT and near the start is limited. Runners are advised to share lifts to the start and to be dropped off within walking distance. Some of the schools near the start will provide parking. The "Jammie Shuttle" bus service will take runners back to the parking areas at the start free of charge. These will leave from 10:00 onwards from the UCT Indoor Sports Centre.

So you’ve agreed to second and support your significant other, friend, brother, sister, mom, dad as they run the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon. We’ve put together a list of things to help you make the most of this experience and to help you be the best supporter out there. Cape Town residents and visitors to the city for the Easter weekend are encouraged to come along and support the runners as well. The following spots have been identified as spectator “hot spots” and are great for watching the race and taking in the breathtaking views that Cape Town has to offer:
Main Road – Lakeside
Fish Hoek – Kommetjie Road
Silvermine Road intersection
Noordhoek Village – start of Chapman’s Peak
ConstantiaNek – (Nedbank hosts Green Mile with five entertainment hot spots)
Cecelia Forest – along Rhodes Drive
Union Avenue towards UCT.

Old Mutual Two Oceans Fun Run/Walk:
Those not doing the ultra or the half marathon can enter the Old Mutual Two Oceans Fun RunWalk. These take place on Good Friday 3 April 2015 at the UCT Sports Grounds commencing from 11 in the morning. Participants can enter the 56m nappy dash (for kids 3 years and younger), a 300 m Toddlers’ Trot (for kids between ages 4 to 7 years), 2.5 km or 5 km run/walk. There are plenty of lucky draw prizes up for grabs, as well as fun and games for the children on the UCT sports fields.

The world’s most beautiful marathon, the Old Mutual Two Oceans marathon, will be broadcast live on SABC 2 on race day. The ultra marathon starts at 06:30am and the half marathon starts at 06:00am, with the live broadcast getting underway at 06:25am as well. The event will be televised until 11:00am.
Tog bags are stored in the Tog Bag Facility at the bag owner's risk.
A Tog Bag Facility will be available suitably signaged on the day of the race in one of the tents at the UCT fields. Runners can also make use of the Tog Bag Trucks that will be available at the start in Dean Street. Your tog bags will be taken back to the Finish Venue.
Runners must ensure that their bags are labeled with their names on the label provided at these trucks. Every care will be taken to ensure that the bags are safeguarded. However, runners are advised not to leave expensive or valuable items in their bags, as the organisers cannot accept responsibility for any losses.
It is imperative that runners fill in the medical information on the back of their race number. Should a runner require hospital treatment, he/she will be charged according to the hospital tariff rate.
Memorise this number in the case of a medical emergency. Information relating to runners who have been admitted to the Medical Tent will be available at the Information Tent next to the finish. More info on the medical stations on our separate Medical Station section on the website. There will be a number of rubbing stations on the route.
