Compulsory Equipment for the Trail Runs

12km:

1. Water – Carry at least 500ml. Hydration Pack recommended. Please note there is no water table on the course.
2. Food – Energy Bar/ Sandwich/ Banana.
3. A cell phone charged, with the event emergency number (supplied at registration) saved and stored in a Ziplock bag. 
4. Windbreaker/waterproof jacket recommended. Weather dependant but not compulsory for short course.
5. Hat and sun lotion recommended. 
6. Race Number is compulsory to start event.
7. All runners are required to wear a RaceTec timing chip on one of their shoes during the race. The chip must be registered in your name and not belong to someone else. Runners who do not own a chip (or have lost theirs) must purchase a new chip when they enter, and runners who lose their timing chips after entering or have left them at home will be able to buy a new timing chip at Registration.

22km:

1. Water – Carry at least 1.5 Litre. Bladder pack strongly recommended. No official water tables on course, but emergency water point at the Block House.
2. Food – Energy Bar/ Sandwich/ Banana.
3. A cell phone charged, with the event emergency number (supplied at registration) saved and stored in a Ziplock bag.
4. Windbreaker is compulsory. Waterproof jacket is compulsory if rain is expected. NO EXCUSES!
5. Space blanket
6. Hat and sun lotion
7. Race Number is compulsory to start event.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Run under the rules of the IAAF, Athletics South Africa and Western Province Athletics. 
We are strict with the required equipment. There is a compulsory equipment check on entering the Start Pen. If you do not have the required equipment with you, you will not be allowed to start the race.  In addition, there will be a gear check on the route to ensure that you still have the right kit.
- Do not run with headphones or your dogs.
- Don't run if you are sick!
- DO NOT LITTER!
- You are welcome to take photos, but step out of the way of other runners when you do.
